The Limited Liability Company Ecoshelf was founded on July 22, 1997 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia.
The founders of the company are:
- Sakhalin Basin Emergency and Salvage Department, Korsakov , Russia ;
- State Marine Pollution Control and Salvage Administration, Moscow , Russia ;
- Far-Eastern Basin Emergency and Salvage Department, Vladivostok , Russia.
- World Environmental Service Technologies, LLC, Alaska , USA
Ecoshelf, Ltd was established to service the expanding oil and gas industry developing the Sakhalin Shelf oilfields
Ecoshelf is the first specialized company in the Russian Far East to conduct oil spill response and has all required Federation and Oblast permits and licenses.
Ecoshelf has a wide variety of state-of-the-art oil spill response equipment to provide high-quality oil spill response service both offshore and onshore.
Ecoshelf is constantly seeking to expand our range of core activities and currently provides a full spectrum of services to support oil field development on the Sakhalin Shelf and Vietnam oil operations.
Ecoshelf has all the necessary licenses and certificates for all of our operations.
Ecoshelf specializes in the following:
Oil Spill Response and Prevention, Offshore and Onshore:

Provision of Vessels to conduct marine and near shore geophysical and other scientific studies on the shelf

Support Services for oil companies developing the Sakhalin shelf:
- Transportation of cargo and passengers by offshore vessels;
- Towing of vessels and other floating facilities;

Since its inception, Ecoshelf has successfully provided offshore and shoreline oil spill response to the operating companies of the Sakhalin-1 and Sakhalin-2 projects: Exxon Neftegas Limited and Sakhalin Energy Investment Company.
In 2004, Ecoshelf began providing services to British Petroleum / Elvary Neftegas Limited Company, operating the Sakhalin-5 project.
Ecoshelf professionals have decades of experience in oil spill emergency response from a wide variety of major recent oil spill throughout the world: the Valdez tanker incident in Prince William Sound, Alaska; the pipeline spill in Komi Republic, Russia; the Huntington Beach oil spill in Southern California; oil spills in the Persian Gulf; the Nakhodka tanker oil spill near Japan, 2004 Ecoshelf was the response company for the “Cristoforo Colombo” vessel incident in the port of Kholmsk.
Starting the year 2000, Ecoshelf began providing vessels, equipment and supplies to support geophysical, engineering, geological and other scientific and research works for companies working on Sakhalin and Vietnamese shelves.
Since that time we have also provided transportation, office and other facilities, work clothing, qualified personnel.
In 2001, Ecoshelf Ltd. began providing comprehensive diving services, engaging high-grade personnel, modern equipment and specialized vessels. Work completed in 2004 included the testing of Orlan Platform steel foundation and conductor frame. Based upon this work, Exxon Neftegas Ltd. Company has recommended Ecoshelf for any diving works within the Sakhalin-1 Project.
In 2002, Ecoshelf began to providing comprehensive waste handling services for hazardous-class industrial waste, arising as a result of construction activities, within the Sakhalin-1 Project at Chayvo. At the present time, Ecoshelf is co-operating in handling the waste for many companies developing the Sakhalin Shelf throughout Sakhalin Island. Under implementation of activities for Waste Management, Ecoshelf has established contracts with numerous, licensed recycling companies within the Sakhalin Region, Khabarovsk , Vladivostok and European part of Russia.
Ecoshelf is dedicated to reinvesting a large percentage of our capital funds in order to provide ever increasing service and quality to our Clients. For example, Ecoshelf has recently purchased specialized transport and OSR equipment, produced by “Lamor” and “Vikoma” companies. At the present time, Ecoshelf is negotiating with Federation and foreign manufacturers of industrial waste recycling equipment.
Ecoshelf employees constantly improve their proficiency and skills by undergoing specialized trainings at different training centers both in Russia and abroad. Ecoshelf Ltd. constantly takes part in projects and collective trainings together with various foreign organizations, such as USA Coast Guard, Coast Guard of Japan, Petroleum Association of Japan and others.
In the year 2003, ISO-9001 Quality Management System was implemented within Ecoshelf, which is commensurate with International Standards Requirements ИСО 9001-2000.
To perform our services, Ecoshelf operates out of a head office in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and has support bases and branches in Nogliki, Korsakov, De-Kastri, Vladivostok, and Moscow.
